Adventures in Montana: A Hike in June

This weekend, Derrick, Phil, Shannon and I decided it was a perfect day to go on a hike. It was one of the first really beautiful summer days we'd had, and what better way to spend it than out on a trail somewhere.  We decided to go to St. Mary's Peak, somewhere up in the Bitterroot Wilderness.  We knew there might be a chance of snow, but we were still game to try it.

About 75% of the trail had snow on it.  We were all dressed for summer weather, in our shorts and light shirts, but the air stayed warm until nearly the top, so we were fine.

I don't know if it was the challenge, the company, or just that it was so beautiful, but this was one of my favorite hikes ever.  Would love to do it again sometime!
